Linda Kay, "Sandie," McDonald, a vibrant soul who touched the lives of many, gracefully passed into her heavenly home on June 7, 2026, in Malvern, AR. She was born on September 21, 1946, in DeQueen, AR. Her life was filled with genuine passion for her family and friends. She always put others above herself, a true servant heart and life.

Sandie is survived by her two loving daughters, Kristal Draper and husband Bart Draper of Traskwood, AR, and Marianne Doster of Stamps, AR; four beloved grandchildren Dominick Draper and his wife Ella; Reagan Doster; Noah Draper; and Raleigh Doster; two sisters, Thelma Morrison; Paula Bayless and husband John Bayless; three nephews, James Morrison; Stephen Morrison and his wife Sandy Garza; and Christopher Morrison and his daughter Aleah; one very special niece, Cecilia Legaspi and husband Peter Legaspi. She also leaves behind a special friend, Sonny Coarsey, along with a host of cousins, dear friends, and some special classmates.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, husband, James "Shack" Vernon McDonald; her mother and stepfather, Judy Price and Paul Vermillion; and her father Jefferson Franklin Johnson.

Sandie was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church in Magnolia, Arkansas. She was saved at a young age. She loved studying God's Word. Sandie faithfully raised her two daughters in a loving, Christian home alongside her late husband. One of her many passions was sharing Bible verses with others.

For more than 30 years, Sandie devoted her professional life by educating hundreds of children through the years at multiple school districts: Bradley, Garland City, Stamps, and her last two years at the Lafayette County School District. She was a certified elementary school teacher, K-6th grades. She loved teaching and preparing her students for life through education. Throughout her career, she taught multiple grade levels and later earned her Master of Education (Library Media and Information Specialist). She also received her Reading Specialist Certification. Before retiring from the Lafayette County School District in 2005, she worked closely with elementary students in small reading groups, helping many children develop a love for reading and learning.

Sandie found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved collecting and trying new recipes, sewing for her children and grandchildren, and painting beautiful artwork she taught herself to create while watching Bob Ross on television. She generously shared her paintings with others and treasured every opportunity to create something meaningful.

She was a devoted, loving, caring wife, mother, sister, daughter, educator, and loyal friend. Sandie was a compassionate soul who also had a love for animals, often opening her home to stray cats and dogs in need of care. Her animals and family will miss her dearly.

Her Celebration of Life service and her visitation were held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Central Baptist Church in Magnolia, Arkansas.

Sandie's body was laid to rest on June 8, 2026, in a private burial service at Lakeside Cemetery in Stamps, Arkansas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Operation Christmas Child at Central Baptist Church in Magnolia, Arkansas.

The family would like to say thank you to the wonderful nurses and staff of LifeTouch Health (AR Hospice) for providing assistance and emotional support to Sandie's family.

A special thank you to the compassionate nurses and staff at Encore Healthcare & Rehabilitation in Malvern, AR, for providing respite care for their mother during her last few days on earth.
