Louise Mackey Roper, age 101 of Hamilton, Texas, formerly of Stamps, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2017. Mrs. Roper was born December 9, 1915 in Stamps to Earnest and Lucy Ormand Mackey. She lived a healthy life which she enjoyed to the fullest. She touched so many lives and treated everyone the same; always with a smile on her face and love in her heart. Mrs. Roper was known as momma, grandmother, grannie, little grannie, artificial grannie, adopted grandmother, and friend to many. The wonderful memories and stories will hold dear for many and will be told and shared for years to come.

She accepted Christ as her Savior when she was a girl and was a charter member of First Baptist Church in Stamps.

Mrs. Roper was preceded in death by her parents; husband, O.D. Roper; son, Oscar Paul Roper; daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Harvey Foster; daughter-in-law, Carilon Roper; five brothers; and one baby sister.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Jahns and husband, Ted of Hamilton, TX; her son, Wayne "Pug" Roper of Waskom, TX; grandson whom she raised as her son, Tony Foster and wife, Rhonda of Waskom, TX; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Roper of Fort Worth, TX; two other grandsons, Brian Roper and wife, Kim and Preston Roper and wife, Carol; four granddaughters, Carol Richardson and husband, Daniel; Debi Jahns and husband, Byron Stephens; Wendy Russell and husband, Mike; and Misty Manshack and husband, Jerry; seven great grandsons, Daniel Foster and wife, Crystal; Jacob Foster; Rusty Richardson; Dustin Richardson; Robert Stephens and wife, Kristina; Christopher Russell; and Dylan Manshack; one great granddaughter, Kristin Esskew and husband, Terry; nine great-great grandchildren; Caylee Richardson, Morgan Richardson, Nathan Esskew, Tim Esskew, Karenna Esskew, Brynn Stephens, Jack Stephens, Kaia Stephens, and Brian Stephens; and numerous other family and friends.

A special thanks to the staff of Dove Hill Nursing Home in Hamilton, where she spent the last two years of her life. They will remember her as the "cookie monster" and the little lady who loved to dance.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 30, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Stamps, AR with Bro. Mike Turner officiating under the direction of Smith Funeral Homes of Stamps.
