Manuel Dewayne Nix, 79 of Buckner, AR. passed away March 26, 2021 in Springhill, LA.

He was born April 7, 1941 in Buckner, AR. to Aubrey and Alta Nix. He was a deacon and lifetime member of the Shiloh Union Baptist Church, former president of the Lafayette County Cattleman's association. In his younger days he was a line supervisor at Lone Star Ammunition and he also sold life insurance for New York Life. From 1978 through 1997 he and his wife Ginger owned and operated two Chicken Country restaurants. They met and made numerous friends during that time. Manuel enjoyed visiting with and serving each and everyone of their customers. He also enjoyed running his poultry farm and raising cattle for many years, but his real passion was spending time with the love of his life and his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Myra Lynn Smith and one brother Raymond Nix.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ginger Nix of Buckner. Two daughters: Karla Rader and husband Scottie of Buckner, AR. and Lacy Wheelington and husband Don of Buckner, AR. Two sons: Mark Nix and wife Stephenie of Benton, LA and Matt Nix and wife Ami of Buckner, AR. Two brothers: Gerald Nix and wife Betty of Pine Bluff, AR. and David Nix of Star City, AR. Twelve grandchildren: Hannah Rader of Buckner, AR., Jonathan Rader and wife Jessica of Hope, AR., Justin Rader of Hope, AR., Megan McGaughey and husband Ronnie of Houston, TX., Hart Burk and wife Delta of Vemillion, OH., Aimee Denby and husband James of Benton, LA., Lucas Burk and wife Lauren of Lake Charles, LA., Atalyn Rhye and husband Tyler of Benton, LA. Tanner Clark and wife Justice of Stamps, AR., Abby Clark of Buckner, AR. Colton Roncali and wife Faith of Buckner, AR. and Cody Roncali of Buckner, AR. and a host of great grandchildren.

Pallbearers: Joe Don Nix, Tim Nix, Alan Nix, Jeff Nix, Terry Dickson, Kelly Dickson and Copie Dickson. Honorary pallbearers: Tanner Clark, Colton Roncali, Cody Roncali, Justin Rader, Jonathan Rader, Hart Burk and Lucas Burk.

Funeral Services will be held 2P.M. Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps, AR. with Bro. Charles Loyed and Tim Nix officiating under direction of Smith Funeral Homes. Internment will be at Shiloh Cemetery in Buckner, AR.

Visitation will be held from 6P.M. – 8P.M. Monday, March 29, 2021 at Smith Funeral Home in Stamps, AR
