Marcus Hobson "Hoppy" Higgins Sr.,73, of Taylor, Arkansas, passed from this life on October 14, 2022. He was born on June 26, 1949 to William Aubrey Higgins and Sunshine Corinne (Orr) Higgins in Taylor Arkansas. Hoppy was a member of the Forest Grove Missionary Baptist Church, an honorary union iron worker, a member of Hughey Lodge #70. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and playing pool. He enjoyed talking to friends and family and if you was not a known friend at the beginning of the conversation you would be by the end of the visit.
Marcus was preceded in death by his parents, William and Sunshine Higgins.
Marcus is survived by his wife, Brenda Kay (Pierson) Higgins of Taylor, Arkansas; Four sons, Marcus Hobson Higgins, Jr. of Bacliff, Texas; Matthew Emmett Higgins of Taylor, Arkansas; Aaron Marcus McClendon of Deville, Louisiana; and Rusty Allen Cox, of Hot Springs, Arkansas; Two daughters, Amy Miranda Higgins of Gilmer, Texas; Gayla Denise Vines of Bodcaw, Arkansas; A special daughter in law, Cynthia Higgins of Taylor, Arkansas; Two sisters, Sue R. Meeler, of Stamps, Arkansas; Cynthia Corinne Rogers of Taylor, Arkansas; One brother, William Aubrey Higgins Jr. of Taylor, Arkansas; Grandchildren, Marcus H. Higgins III, Austin Blayne Kidd, Brett Wayne Vines, Ryan Allen Cox, Lucas James Vines, Aricea Paige Higgins, Bree Nikole Page, Madison Grace Higgins, Autumn Marie McClendon, Madison Elaine Horn, Heaven Leigh Bolton, Courtney Paige Bolton, Cassandra Gayle Hall and Taegan Layne Hamilton; Great grandchildren, Tucker,River, Leah, Kinley, Hayden, Maty, Karsyn; Many nieces and nephews, a host of cousins and friends and his beloved dog Boney Marony.
A Memorial Service will be on Sunday, October 16, 2022, At 3:00 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Chapel in Taylor, Arkansas.
