Martha Paulette Timmons Taylor, age 79, of Stamps, Arkansas walked through the gates of Heaven onto the streets of gold on January 7, 2021. She was born September 9, 1941 in Magnolia, Arkansas to Felix Edward and Mattie Lou Pinckard Timmons. Paulette was the ninth child born into this family. Over the next ten years she would be joined by five other siblings.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Susan Kay Griffith and Gina Mitchell; son, Johnny McGowan; along with three sisters and six brothers.
Paulette was survived by one son, Shane McGowan (Dena) of Village; two sisters, Jo Ellen Weber of Springhill, LA and Glenda Ritchie (Jerrell) of Bloomburg, TX; two brothers, Melvin (Jo Kay) Timmons of Bloomburg, TX and Jimmy (Rosemary) Timmons of Lafayette, LA; three granddaughters, Rachel Sanders and husband, Brandon of Gurdon, AR, Amber Taylor and husband, Daniel of Stamps, AR and Gabrelle Mitchell and Casey Downs of Gurdon, AR; two grandsons, Abrien McGowan of Village, AR and Josh Griffith and wife, Ashley of McCaskill, AR; eleven great grandchildren; special friends, Liz Creech and Debbie Wallace; and lots of close friends are left to cherish her memories.
Paulette attended Village Schools. After her school years she married and raised her family. She worked at Home Cabinet Shop for a few years then went to work at Alan White in Stamps where she worked for 30 years and retired when they moved locations. She then went to work for C&C Packing for seven years until she could no longer work. After her mother died she took on the responsibility of keeping the family together. She would arrange for the family to have a gathering at Christmas and other times. She also raised her two grandsons during this time. Paulette attended First Baptist Church where she had the best extended family anyone could have, everyone in town was her friend as she was to them.
Graveside services will be held at 2PM, Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Shiloh-Lamertine Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at A.O. Smith Funeral Homes Chapel from 5PM-7PM.
The family request that social distancing be practiced and mask be worn during the visitation and service.
