Mary Buchanan, age 83, of Stephens, AR, passed away June 27, 2019, at Wentworth Place in Magnolia, AR.  She was born on April 14, 1936 in Stamps, AR.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Buchanan and parents Lee Barbaree and Ellen Smith.

She was an excellent cook and enjoyed seeing children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by three sons and their wives, Travis and Lauretta Buchanan of Norman, OK, Billy Ray Buchanan of Stephens, AR, and David and Stacy Buchanan of Magnolia, AR; five grandchildren, Lisa Gathright and husband Brent of Denver, CO, Brittany Sharp and husband Jordan of Magnolia, AR, Buck Buchanan of Stephens, AR, Katie Herren and husband Kyle of Magnolia, AR and Abby Buchanan of Magnolia, AR and fiancé Brady Forbes of Texarkana; two great-grandsons Asa and Archer Gathright of Denver, CO; two sisters, Wanda Short of Lewisville, AR and Dot Wheelington and husband G.W. of Pine Bluff, AR; seven nieces and nephews along with numerous extended family and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be Buck Buchanan, Brent Gathright, Jordan Sharp, Kyle Herren, Harry Dunavant and Ronnie Hughey.

The Buchanan family would like to extend a warm thank you to Dudneywood Assisted Living, Wentworth Place and Life Touch Hospice who worked closely with Mary.  We know she was loved and well cared for by Staff and Administration.

Funeral Services will be held 10 am Saturday, June 29, 2019 at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps, AR with Reverend J.W. Helm officiating.  Interment will follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Buckner, AR.  Visitation will be Friday, June 28, 2019 from 6pm-8pm at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel.
