Mary Lou Faulk Pickett, 84, of Taylor, Arkansas passed away Saturday, October 4, 2025, in her home, surrounded by her loved ones.

Mary was born October 27, 1940, in Waldo, Arkansas to Arthur and Catherine Thurman Faulk.  At the age of sixteen, she married her love, Delano Pickett, and eventually settled to the Walker Creek community, where she then resided the rest of her life.  Together, they were blessed with three children, eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Family was the center of her life, and she took delight in each new generation. A devoted caregiver, she poured her heart into nurturing and supporting her loved ones, always ready with a listening ear, a helping hand, or a comforting presence. To her, family was everything, and her legacy of love and care will continue to live on in each of them. Any vacation typically involved visiting family members scattered throughout the United States.  She organized a family reunion that became a tradition every other year for more than thirty years.

Mary, affectionately known as MawMaw to many, will be remembered for her sweet and gentle spirit, her gracious heart, and the patience she showed to everyone around her. Always seeking peace, she had a gift for bringing calm into any situation and was a true peacemaker within her family.  She was a homemaker and took pleasure in the simple things of life. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and was an avid reader of 'sweet little stories.' She was fueled by a love for Diet Dr. Pepper and a great sense of humor, where her sassiness shined through. Some of her greatest joy came from spending time every summer on the United Pentecostal Campgrounds in Redfield, AR. From childhood to present day, her adoration for those sacred grounds was passed down to her children, grandchildren and will extend to future generations.

Those that really knew her, know that her first love was Jesus. She was a faithful, devoted Christian, a true example of a Proverbs woman.  Grounded in her faith, Mary shared it in both big ways and small. She lived a life of prayer, from soft whispers of "Thank you, Jesus" to fervent prayers that moved mountains. Prayers were always on her lips and in her heart for those she encountered, and many witnessed the miracles that came through her steadfast faith. Through every storm in her life, her trust in God never wavered. She served in any capacity she could from making and selling peanut brittle to being a youth camp chaperone, always willing to volunteer. Her true passion was teaching children about the love of Jesus, and she faithfully taught Sunday School for well over forty years.

She touched the lives of everyone who had the honor of knowing her.  Her legacy will carry on forever through the example she set, the lessons she taught, and the love she shared.

She is preceded in death by her parents Arthur & Catherine Thurman Faulk; her husband of 53 years, Henry Delano Sr; and one brother Jerry Faulk.

She is survived by her children: Juanita Gail Hudson & husband, Kevin of Taylor, AR, Henry D "Stoney" Pickett & wife Jan of Taylor, AR, Valynda Kathryn Jennings & husband, Jason of Bentonville, AR. Grandchildren: Chad, Jennifer, Philip, Candice, Kara, Samantha, Ryleigh & Ella. Great-grandchildren: Kyle, Kaylee, Ainslee, Asher, Brianna, Gavin, Zane, Jason, and Jalyn. One brother Gary Faulk of Burleson, TX, one sister, Linda Harrell of Magnolia, AR & a host of nieces, nephews & cousins.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 8, 2025, from 6:00-8:00 PM. Funeral services will be Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 2:00 PM. Both will be held at the Pentecostals of Magnolia, 1603 Hollensworth St. Magnolia, AR, with Rev. Jason Wylie officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Grove Cemetery under the direction of A.O. Smith Funeral Home of Stamps, AR.
