Mary Alice Hairston, age 78, of Stamps, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2017. Ms. Hairston was born October 28, 1939 in Stamps, Arkansas to Verne and Ona Myrtle (Hamilton) Hairston. She enjoyed singing in the choir and singing at the nursing home.

Ms. Hairston was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Geraldine Pipkin.

She is survived by two nephews, Mark Pipkin and wife Rebecca, of Texarkana, AR; and Nathan Pipkin and wife Linda, of Stamps, AR; great-nephews, Brady Pipkin and wife LeeAnne, and Austin Shipp; great- nieces, Kacey Lamb and husband Jason, Megan Bean, Kaitlyn Pipkin, and Ally Korte; great, great- nephews and nieces, Phillip Lamb, Jessie Lamb, and Sadie Pipkin; and special cousins, Wayne Hairston and Dorothy Whaley.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 26, 2017, at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel, on Thomas Street, with Bro. Charlie Warren, officiating. Burial will follow at the Sardis Cemetery in Stamps, AR. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., on Saturday at the funeral home.
