Mary Ruth Lambeth, age 85 of the Mt. Vernon Community, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2016 at her home. She was the wife of the late Charles Bryant Lambeth. They were married 55 years before he went home to Heaven.

Born on December 15, 1930 in Lewisville, Arkansas, she was the 8th child of James Heron and Loney Bell (Cook) May. Mary loved the Lord with all her heart and was a faithful member of Antioch West Baptist Church. One of her greatest loves was teaching Sunday School. She truly loved her church family. She was a faithful prayer warrior and sent cards and calls each week to ones who were ill or just needed a word of encouragement.

Mary is survived by her children, Mary and Joe Bob Caperton of the Mt. Vernon Community; her grandchildren, Joanna and Doug Roberts of Boone, NC, James and Paige Caperton of Orlando, FL, Jason and Laura Caperton of Apopka, FL. She was Meme to her great grandchildren, Forrest, Fletcher, and Fisher Roberts; Olivia and James Bryant Caperton; and Mary Ann and Christopher Caperton. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Wilburn and Dot May of Magnolia, AR; sister, Myrtle Lambeth of Alvin, TX; sister-in-law, Ann May of Shreveport, LA; and many nieces and nephews. She delighted in each of her great grandchildren and faithfully prayed for them each day. She was a loving wife, Mama, Grandma, and Meme. She was also known as Grandma to many in her community.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2016 at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps, AR with Bro. Chris Lucy officiating. Interment will follow at Wilson Cemetery in Lewisville, AR. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 20, 2016 at the Smith Funeral Home in Stamps. Online registration is available at www.aosmithfuneralhome.com.
