Mary Vernell Rogers, age 95, of Stamps, AR, passed away March 11, 2016 at Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana, TX.

Mrs. Rogers was born November 1, 1920 in, Stamps, AR to Jasper Rudolf and Bertha (Winberry) Chastain. She was the oldest living member of First Baptist Church. .

Mrs. Rogers was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Percy Delmas "Pawpaw" Rogers; four brothers; and one sister.

She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Haskett and husband, Wayne Stewart, of Houston, TX; son, Roger Rogers and wife, Pat, of Hot Springs, AR; Sisters, Martha Phillips of Willisville, AR, and Geraldine Mitchell of Texas City, TX; Grandchildren, Kayla, Deidra, Kelli, and Will; Seven Great Grandchildren; and nephew, Craig Hansen.

Funeral Services will be held at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel, in Stamps, AR, Monday, March 14, 2016 at 10:00am, officiated by Bro. Mike Turner. Interment will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Stamps, AR, under the direction of Smith Funeral Homes of Stamps, AR. Visitation will be held from 9:00am until service time, Monday, March14 , 2016 at Smith Funeral Home in Stamps, AR.
