Mattie Beatrice Compton, age 96 of Buckner, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2017. Mrs. Compton was born December 12, 1920 in Magnolia, Arkansas to Ralph Lee and Ida Phillips Adams.

Mrs. Compton was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lewis Compton; twin children, Lonnie and Donnie; one brother; and one sister.

She is survived by two sons, Lewis Compton of Mesquite, TX and Roger Compton of Buckner, AR; one daughter, Gale Candler and husband, James of Rock Island, IL; seven grandchildren, Alan Tippitt of Buckner, AR, Donna Srebalus and husband, Arthur of Magnolia, AR, Pam Dennington and husband, Denny of Alexander, AR, John Wicker and wife, Hope of Spearsville, LA, Paige Scarbrough and husband, Mike of Dallas, TX, Kelli McGowan and husband, Shannon of Dallas, and Candy Compton also of Dallas; eight great grandchildren, Cavan, Aaron, Krystal, Cody, Justin, Alex, Savannah, and Ella; and eight great-great grandchildren, Jordan, Everleigh, Braylon, Addy, Fiona, Liam, Mary, and Aaryanna.

Funeral Services will be held at 11am Saturday, June 10, 2017 at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps, AR with Bro. Andy Hawkins officiating. Interment will follow at Falcon Cemetery.
