Melvin Keith Morton, 78, of Lewisville, Arkansas passed away on December 5, 2020 peacefully at his home. He was born on October 6, 1942 in Lewisville, Arkansas to Melvin and Annie Laura Morton.
Keith married the love of his life, Barbara Jean McDonald on June 6, 1963, where they were married for 55 years. They made their home in Lewisville where they raised their 3 children. He worked and retired as maintenance supervisor at Dow chemical, now Albemarle Corporation after 30 plus years. Keith was a poultry farmer, raised cattle, and served on the board of the former Lewisville Memorial Hospital. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards with his Springhill and Bradley friends and spending hunting season at Rawls Creek deer camp where he was a member for several years. Nothing gave Keith more pleasure than his grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was truly a "gentle giant".
Keith was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara; and oldest son, Tim.
He is survived by his son, Dickie (Mindy) Morton of Lewisville, AR; daughter, Marcy (Chad) Teague of Taylor, AR; daughter in law, Regenia Morton of Lewisville, AR; brothers, Rodney (Eliska) Morton of Brazoria, TX, Leon (Nancy) Morton of Little Rock, AR and Wayne (Becky) Morton of Lewisville, AR; sister in law, Mary Nell Beckham of Stamps, AR; 5 grandchildren, Keith (Lacey) Morton, Megan (Joe) Cullipher, Madison Morton, Kiley and Laney Teague; 2 great grandchildren, Weslee Morton and Lillie Cullipher; and special friend Hershell Walthall.
Keith was a man of few words, he was a great friend to many, he was our much loved "Pop" and "PawPaw" and will forever be missed.
A graveside service will be held at 10AM, Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Wilson Cemetery with Alan Morton officiating under the direction of A.O. Smith Funeral Homes.
