Mildred Juanita Magee, age 83, of Texarkana, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord Friday, September 18, 2020, in a local hospital after suffering from a prolonged respiratory illness. Mildred had been a resident at the Waterton long- term care facility in Texarkana, Texas, since June of 2019. She was born November 16, 1936, and was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Charles Magee, Sr.; her parents, Clarence and Louise Wicker; and two brothers, Wynon and Foster Wicker.
Mildred is survived by two sons and daughters-in- law, Charles and Janet Magee and James and Mary Nell Magee, both of Texarkana, Arkansas; one sister, Alice Noland of Bowling Green, Kentucky; four grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Mildred was a dedicated member of the Highland Church of Christ and always looked forward to attending its church services and activities, especially her ladies' Bible study group. Mildred and her late husband also shared a great love for traveling the United States, and through the years they so enjoyed the trips they took together exploring all fifty states with Alaska being their all-time favorite destination.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate the life of Mildred Juanita Magee will be held at 10:00 on Thursday, September 24, at the Highland Church of Christ in Texarkana, Arkansas, with Mildred's long-time minister Chris Wooten officiating.
