Mildred McSwain Strange, born in Patmos, Arkansas on June 30, 1927, passed away in Shreveport, Louisiana after a brief illness on Friday, March 25, 2016. Mrs. Strange was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She retired from Alan White Furniture Company in Stamps, Arkansas after 33 years of service. She was a member of the First Methodist Church in Stamps, enjoyed being with her family, and visiting with friends at the nursing home.
Mrs. Strange was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Julia McSwain; and one brother.
She is survived by son, John Green of Locust Bayou, AR; daughter, Janice Knighton and husband, Larry of Shreveport, LA; step-daughter, Mary Joe Rogers and husband, Edwin of Stamps, AR; grandchildren, Julia Morrow and husband, Kenny; Sarah Sulsilovich and husband, Chris; and Michael Green; step-grandchildren, Edwin Ray Rogers and wife, Sherri and Susan Thrift and husband, David; and numerous great grandchildren.
Graveside Services will be held at 2pm Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Lakeside Cemetery in Stamps, AR with Bro. Adam Rogers officiating under the direction of Smith Funeral Homes of Stamps. Online registration is available at www.aosmithfuneralhome.com.
