Obituary

Miriam(Mimi) Candler Searcy formerly of Lewisville died peacefully on Sept. 25, 2014 in Pleasant Valley nursing Home in Little Rock, AR. She preceded in death by her parents, Robert Lionel Searcy and Mabel Adams Searcy of Lewisville. Born on March 3, 1926, Mimi attended Lewisville schools and then went on to college at Texas Christian Women's University in Texas. Later on she lived in Denver, Colorado, Casper Wyoming and finally returned in 1968 to Lewisville where she was the Human Resources Director for many years for Cherokee Carpet Mill.
Mimi always loved elephant anything, flower arranging, bird watching, and family visits. When she moved to Little Rock in 1979 she became active in the Ballet Guild as well as enjoying attending the symphony and the opera with the many friends she had.
She is survived by her younger sister Rosemary Campbell of Baton Rouge, LA as well as by her daughter, Camille McElmurry and husband Gary of Little Rock, Robert Lionel Stanford and wife Margie of Denver, CO, grandchildren Miriam Irene Adams and husband Luke of Fayetteville, AR ,Caitlin Camille Conn of Syracuse, NY, Philip R. Conn and wife Lan of Houston, TX, Robert B. Conn and wife Yesult of Augsberg, Germany, niece Miriam Campbell Jones and husband Brad of Seguin, TX, and nephew, John Stone Campbell and wife, Stephanie of Baton Rouge, LA. Also surviving Mimi are five adorable great-grandchildren.
There will be a memorial service for her at the Methodist Church of Lewisville, Ar on Saturday, November 1 at 2:00 followed by burial at the Wilson Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to Gentiva Hospice at www.gentiva.com/hospice
