Nell Whittington, age 81, of Lewisville, Arkansas passed away Friday, January 9, 2015. Mrs. Whittington was born May 25, 1933 in Isola, Mississippi. She loved watching her grandsons play baseball and race, loved the B.A.L.L. Club and was a member of First Baptist Church in Lewisville. She also loved watching birds and working in her flower beds.

Mrs. Whittington was preceded in death by her parents, Frank B. and Vernon Jones; husband, James Whittington, Sr.; son, Wesley Whittington; and two great grandsons, Donald Blain Whittington and Robert Lee Reed, Jr.

She is survived by two daughters, Marilyn Gardner and husband, Dennis of Lewisville, AR and Debra McCurry of Stephens, AR; son, James Whittington and wife, Joan of North, SC; three grandsons, Dennis Ray Gardner, Jr. and wife, Tammy; Robert Moore and wife, Tina; and Chris Gardner; nine granddaughters, Kim Buehler and husband, John; Jamie Close and husband, Paul; Crystal Moore; Melissa Black and husband, David; Heather Turner and husband, Curtis; Hillary Whittington; Tracy Roberts and husband, Bryan; Tiffany Tutor; and Lori Reed and husband, Bobby; twenty-eight great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; one brother, Willie Frank Jones and wife, Geraldine; one sister, Frances Pate and husband, Harold; special sister-in-law, Zelda Parker; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 11, 2015 at First Baptist in Lewisville with Bro. Charlie Zumwalt officiating. Interment will follow at Wilson Cemetery in Lewisville under the direction of Smith Funeral Homes of Stamps, AR. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps. Online registration is available at www.aosmithfuneralhome.com.
