Nina Marlar Hillis, age 91, of Lewisville, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2014 at home surrounded by her loved ones. Mrs. Hillis was born April 16, 1923 to Floyd Ransom and Ruth Helen Hughes Pittman in Magnolia, Arkansas. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Mrs. Hillis was a homemaker, an animal lover and an avid Razorback fan. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lewisville and taught Sunday School for many, many years.

Mrs. Hillis was preceded in death by her husband of over fifty years and father of her children, Lewis Elton Marlar; husband, Edward Hillis; son, James "Sonny" Marlar; daughter, Ruth Ann Mitchell; and grandson, Joshua Whistle.

She is survived by her daughter, Lewis Faye Whistle; daughter-in-law, Vivian Marlar; granddaughters, Leslie Mitchell, Kelly Mitchell, Jennifer Stanley and Chrystal Marlar all from Texarkana and Cherie Bobb of Frisco, TX; six great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Wilson Cemetery in Lewisville, AR with Chaplain Norman Castleman under the direction of Smith Funeral Homes of Stamps, AR. Online registration is available at www.aosmithfuneralhome.com.
