Olivia (Hinton) Kyle, 86, of Taylor, Arkansas, entered into God’s kingdom on October 1, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born in Foules, Louisiana on January 8, 1940, to Robert and Elsie Hinton.
Raised in Sicily Island, Louisiana, she developed her love of cooking at an early age and always felt a special relationship with her younger siblings, Bobbie, Travis, and Margie. In 1956, she met the love of her life, Randall, through mutual friends. Six months into a whirlwind romance, they eloped on June 26, 1956, at the ages of 16 and 19. They enjoyed 67 years of marriage together and made many fond memories fishing, playing cards, and cheering on the San Antonio Spurs and Arkansas Razorbacks.
After starting in the United States Postal Service in 1974 as a part-time post office clerk, she eventually became postmaster in Taylor and McNeil, Arkansas. She was one of the first women in the country to serve in that role. It was the perfect job for a person who loved her neighbors, her community, and a healthy dose of gossip—although she assured us later in life that she never read any of your mail.Olivia expressed her love through her cooking and crafts. Family and friends will forever cherish the meals she shared and the countless crotchet treasures she gifted - reminders of her thoughtfulness and generosity. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Taylor and served in a number of volunteer roles there through the years.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Randall, son Wayne, parents Robert and Elsie, and sister Bobbie
She is survived by her son Terry and his wife Paige; brother Travis and his wife Deb; sister Margie and her husband John; grandson Hudson and his wife Emily; granddaughter McKay and her husband Blake; great-granddaughter Margot; and great-grandson Charlie on the way. Special thanks to Emily Higgins, Consuelo Rodriguez, and Marcia Lopez for providing wonderful care to Olivia in her later years.
Graveside services will be 11A.M. Saturday, October 17, 2026, at the Harmony Cemetery in Taylor, Arkansas, under direction of A.O. Smith Funeral Homes Inc.
