Patricia Lynn Rogers Soileau went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, May 10, 2016, after a lengthy and heroic struggle with cancer.

Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Laurel Land Funeral Home in Fort Worth. Graveside Services will be held at Lakeside Cemetery in Stamps, Ark, on Wednesday, May 18, at 10:00 AM under the direction of A.O. Smith Funeral Home in Stamps, AR.

Pat was born Dec. 28, 1928, in Stamps, Ark., to Lenwood Luke and Nellie Blye Rogers. She gave her life to the Lord, Jesus Christ, as a child and began her lifelong service to him. After graduating from Stamps High School, she attended Ouachita Baptist College. In summers she worked for the Arkansas Baptist Convention, teaching in vacation Bible schools and adult study courses in churches throughout the state. Upon graduating from OBC with a bachelor of science degree in home economics, she went to Hawaii as a summer missionary, where she was assigned to the First Baptist Church of Wailuku, Maui. There began a lifelong love for the people of Hawaii. She then went to Honolulu, where she taught in Hawaii Baptist Academy for a year.

A mutual friend introduced Pat to Billie Murray Soileau, who was then serving in the U.S. Navy. They were married Aug. 24, 1954. After Bill was released from active duty, the couple made their home in Fort Worth, except for the three years spent in Hawaii. Pat and Bill had two children.

Pat was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and will be remembered by many as a loving friend and wise counselor.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Sarah Lynn Soileau.

Survivors: Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 61 years, Bill; son, Stephen Murray Soileau and wife, Cheryl; granddaughter, Lana Soileau; sister, Polly Rogers.
