R.L. Simmons III, age 54 of Sarepta, Louisiana, passed away Thursday, September 7, 2017. Mr. Simmons was born July 27, 1963 in Springhill, Louisiana to Roy Leonard Simmons, Jr. and Rebecca Ann Dean Simmons.

Mr. Simmons was preceded in death by his mother, Rebecca Simmons.

He is survived by his father, Roy Simmons, Jr.; step-mother, Sharon; son, Roy "Lenn" Leonard Simmons IV and wife, Bryttanie of Sarepta, LA; daughter, Jessica Danielle Thomas and husband, Don of Mt. Holly, AR; brother, Troy Simmons and wife, Cindy of Shongaloo, LA; sister, Anita Howell of Cotton Valley, LA; six grandchildren, Alyssa Mae, Carter, Ayden, Hunter, MaKinzie, and Gracelynn; six nephews, Dean, Gene, Clayton, Zack, Ricky, and Derrick; and a host of other family members and friends.

Pallbearers will be Dean Simmons, Gene Simmons, Clayton Simmons, Zack Lovelace, Derrick Howell, and Lorenzo Johnson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ricky Howell, Lorenzo Johnson, Jr., Ronnie Vowell, and Jim Carter.

Funeral Services will be held at 2pm Sunday, September 10, 2017 at Unity Baptist Church in Cotton Valley, LA with Bro. Gene Gibson officiating. Interment will follow at Cotton Valley Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Homes of Stamps, AR. Visitation will be held from 5-8pm Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the church.
