Roy Allen Gooch, age 83, of Sibley, Louisiana passed away Sunday, July 27, 2014 in Shreveport Louisiana. He was born March 1, 1931 in Waldo, Arkansas to Stinson John David and Lucy Lou Rena Parker Gooch. Mr. Gooch was a Baptist and an Army Veteran of the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his parents, loving wife Mary Jo Sheffield, three brothers; Parker Gooch, Edwin Gooch, and Thurston Gooch. He was also preceded by three sisters; Opel Renfro, Clyde Ford, and Dorothy Reeves.

Mr. Gooch is survived by one sister, Cathern Adair of Houma, LA, and caregiver and companion Nell Lee.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps with Bro. Steven Smithson officiating.
