Ruby Irene Gentry's Obituary
Ruby Irene Gentry peacefully passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at the Magnolia Health and Rehabilitation Center in Magnolia surrounded by her loving family.
She was born May 24th, 1925 in Lockesberg, Arkansas to Robbie Will Cannon & Verdie Viola Dowdle Cannon. Graduated from Lockesberg High School in 1944. She married Robert Wayne Gentry in April of 1947. She was employed at Stamps school district for 30 years, retiring in 2001. She had a great love for reading and spending time with her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Wayne Gentry; her sister, Laverne Cannon Sneed; and Great Granddaughter, Isobel Grace Gentry.
Survivors include her seven sons: Bobby and Mapra Gentry of Benton Arkansas, Lewis and Nina Gentry of Blevins Arkansas, John and Dianne Gentry of Magnolia Arkansas, Dennis and Annette Gentry of Mineral Springs Arkansas, Garry Gentry of Stamps Arkansas, Ralph and Rita Gentry of Saginaw Texas, Anthony and Angie Gentry of Hope Arkansas. 13 Grandchildren: Shelley Alvine, Heather Shaw, Robert Shane Gentry, Phillip Gentry, Danny Gentry, William Gentry, Leslie Cotty, Michael Gentry, Tara Jernigan, Grant Gentry, Clayton Carter, Laura Caskey and Brady Gentry. Along with 15 Great grandchildren. One brother in-law Wesley (Sammie) Gentry, Two Sister In-laws Verene (Robby) Jester and Edith (Bobby) Deloney. Special family friends, Robert and Patricia Welch and Children.
The family would like to give thanks to Magnolia Health and Rehabilitation Center, Magnolia Regional Medical Center, and Life Touch Hospice. Special thanks to Dr. John Ed Alexander Jr. for loving medical care.
Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 22nd at Smith Funeral Home, in Stamps Arkansas. Funeral will be held at Smith Funeral Home, in Stamps at 3 p.m. Saturday July 23rd. A graveside celebration of her life service will be held at Wrights Chapel cemetery off HW 317 at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, July 23rd with services being led by Brother Butch Riddle.
