Sibil Murlene Boswell, at the age of 81, went to be with the Lord on April 19, 2015. Murlene was born in Nevada County, Arkansas on April 20, 1933 to Carl and Retha Lewis. Growing up in Bodcaw, Murlene had four brothers and a sister, Garland, George, Jimmy, Joe, and Martha. In high school, Murlene was known for her height and enjoyed playing basketball for the Bodcaw Badgers' women's team. She was also known for her good looks and sweet heart and caught the eye of upperclassman Terry Lee Boswell. Before Terry shipped off to fight in the Korean War, Murlene and Terry married in 1950. Less than a year after Terry returned from the war, they gave birth to Steve, and then two years later to David. Murlene and Terry soon moved to Lancaster, Texas and then later to Duncanville. In 1963, they gave birth to their daughter, Tonya. Most of Murlene's career was in telecommunications working for Southwestern Bell. When she wasn't working, she and Terry enjoyed traveling the country with their friends -- including their good friends Raymond and Barbara Nolen, with whom they shared many memories -- but they always traveled by ground, as Murlene never flew on a plane. When she and Terry decided to retire, they moved to Midlothian, Texas where they continued to travel and spend time with their children and grandchildren. Murlene and Terry were members of Bodcaw Baptist Church and after moving to Texas would often travel back for school, family, and church reunions held there. Murlene is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Retha Lewis, husband, Terry Lee Boswell, and her brothers, Garland Lewis and Jimmy Lewis. She is survived by her brothers, George Lewis and Joe Lewis, sister, Martha Hall, sons, Steve Boswell and David Boswell, daughter, Tonya McKittrick, and seven grandchildren, Joe Boswell, Aubrey Boswell, Alyssa Boswell, Jonathan Boswell, Wyatt Boswell, Amber Oakley, and Adam Lloyd. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, and she will be missed dearly by all those who knew her.
