Steve Dewayne Sanders, age 59 of Stamps, Arkansas, passed away Monday, March 27, 2017. Steve was born January 28, 1958 in Lewisville, Arkansas. He was a member of the Stamps Fire Department for seventeen years and a mechanic and wrecker driver for Lafayette County. He enjoyed fishing.

Steve was preceded in death by his father, Marian Sanders; mother, Opal Jones; and brother, Clarence Knighton.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Sanders of Stamps, AR; one daughter, Stephanie Poindexter and fiancé, Dean Pettis of Stamps; three sons, Jeremy Sanders, Timothy Sanders and wife, Adecil, and Jason Sanders and wife, Jennifer all of Stamps; three brothers, Henry Sanders of Hope, AR; Phillip Sanders of Nashville, AR; and Archie Sanders and wife, Kathy of Springhill, LA; four sisters, Nettie Brent and husband, Paul of Lewisville, AR; Doris Creech and husband, Lavelle of Stamps, AR; Dorothy Davidson and husband, David of Springhill, LA; and Sandra Boyd of El Dorado, AR; mother-in-law, Frances Moses of Hope, AR; eleven grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 10am Friday, March 31, 2017 at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps, AR with Bro. Mike Turner officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm Thursday, March 30, 2017 at the Smith Funeral Home in Stamps.

Honorary Pallbearers will include the Stamps Fire Department and the Stamps Police Department.
