Van Loy "Pete" Phillips, age 75, of Stamps, Arkansas passed away peacefully at his home Monday, December 9, 2013. He was born on April 25, 1938 in Stamps, Arkansas to James Ila and Olive Charlene Hollis Phillips.

Mr. Phillips was preceded in death by his parents, Brother; James "Buddy" Phillips, and two sisters; Janette Elam and Joann Martin.

He is survived by his wife; Mollie Phillips, Son; Randy Phillips and wife Wanda of Stamps, Daughter, Angelia Hovarter and husband Jimmie, all of Stamps, Arkansas. Also surviving is three sisters; Ora Plumley of Magnolia, Arkansas, Sue Bridges of Magnolia, Arkansas, and Ila Nell Campbell of Laneburg, Arkansas, two Grandchildren; Heath Phillips, Coleen Chase and husband Brad, two Great-Grandchildren; Hayden Chase and Claire Chase, two Special Friends; Jeremy Dies and Natalie Pettit James.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps with Bro. Tom Hooten and Bro. Jamie Knighton officiating. Interment will follow in Shiloh Cemetery in Buckner under the direction of A.O. Smith Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at the funeral home.
