Venson E. Jones, age 85, passed away Monday, August 4, 2014 in Conroe, Texas ending a battle with Alzheimer's. Mr. Jones was born August 7, 1928 to John E. Jones and Honest C. Jones in Hope, Arkansas. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Before retiring, he owned and operated an electric business, farmed, raised cattle and loved gardening. Mr. Jones married Jean Jones October 31, 1958 and remained married till her death in 2005.

Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his wife; parents; two sisters and one brother.

He is survived by his step-daughter, Gwen Hill of Conroe, TX; two step-sons, Herbert Parmer of Bodcaw, AR and Henry Parmer of Hope, AR; two brother-in-laws, Houston Schooley of Hope, AR and Jimmy Don Warford of Springdale, AR; two sister-in-laws, Joan Jones of Texarkana, TX and Gayle Scoggins of Nash, TX; special granddaughter, Dawn R. Uceda and husband, Joe of Pearland, TX; special great granddaughter, Raquel Uceda of Pearland, TX; special nephews, Lane Bradford and wife, Nancy of Conroe, TX, Danny Roe and wife, Rita of Gurdon, AR and Mike McBride of Hope, AR; and a number of nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
