Verdene Taylor 92, of Buckner, AR died Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Magnolia Regional Medical Center in Magnolia. She was born on December 5, 1923 to Viola Gipson in Buckner, AR.

She was a wife, mother, aunt, friend and church mother of the Progressive Church of God in Christ in Maywood, IL.

She is survived by three sons: Junior Lewis (Ethel) Wesley of Dolton, Illinois, Virgil C.(Ossie)Wesley of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Daniel Lee (Jessica) Taylor of Anniston, Alabama; four daughters Florentine (Tina) Humphrey of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Odessa (Wesley) Rodgers of Chicago, Illinois, Rashida (Viola)Jacobs of Odessa, Delaware, Naomi (Wesley)Hrobowski of Chicago, Illinois: twenty one grandchildren, forty seven great grandchildren, twenty great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps, AR with Rev. LaVara Henry of Pine Bluff, AR officiating. Burial will follow at Clevet Springs Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Friday, July 1, 2016 from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
