Obituary

Virginia Ann (Spence) Autry, age 78, of Hawkins, TX, passed away March 31, 2016 at The Heart Hospital of Baylor-Plano in Plano, TX.

Virginia was born May 29, 1937 in, Bradley, AR to Roy, Sr. and Bertha Mae (Cox) Spence. She was an All-State basketball player in high school. She, along with her husband, owned and operated College Bowl in Texarkana for 31 years. They retired from Texarkana and moved to Lake Hawkins in 2004. Virginia enjoyed traveling, reading, bowling, basketball, anything A & M, and most of all her grandchildren. While raising her children in Texarkana, she always provided a home that all the kids went to, often fed the neighborhood, kept all the kids safe, and most importantly provided love to all of her "sons".

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Clyde Spence; and a sister Billy Jean Hill.

She is survived by her Husband, Ed Autry; sons, Edward "Tra" Autry, Jr. and wife Julie, of , Hallsville, TX, and Sam Autry, and wife Charity, of Houston, TX ; brothers ,Roy Spence and wife Clarice, of Springhill, LA and Jesse Spence and wife Pat, of Springhill, LA; sister, Pat Norris and husband Jim of Cleveland , GA; grandchildren, Dalton, Alyssa, Jackson, and Spencer.

Virginia will be remembered as "the model of strength and the epitome of love".

A Memorial Service will be held at the Lake Hawkins County Park in Hawkins, TX on Thursday, April 7, 2016, at 11:00 AM.
