Virginia Knippers passed away at the age of 88 in Taylor, Arkansas on October 9, 2020. Born Virginia Faye Ferguson in El Dorado, Arkansas on November 26, 1931 to John William and Matty Lee Fautheree Ferguson. She married Willie Knippers on March 14, 1948 in Magnolia, AR and they had two sons John (Elaine) Knippers, Sr. of Tualatin, OR and Douglas (Jerri) Knippers of Pleasant View, UT. Willie and Virginia shared 61 years of marriage before his passing in December of 2008. Virginia was a friend to everyone and anyone could become family as well. She worked for over 30 years at City Market in Cortez, Colorado where she enjoyed the conversation with each customer and coworker.
Virginia is preceded in death by her husband, parents and brothers Noel Ferguson, Roy Ferguson, Owen Ray (Buddy) Ferguson and John Michael Ferguson, as well as brothers-in-laws Willard (Jiggs) Knippers, Wayne Knippers, and Sister-in-law Mildred Baldridge.
Virginia will be greatly missed and remembered by her sons, two sisters Dorthey Brasher and Catherine McCarthy, one brother-in-law Walker Knippers and sister-in-law Sue Morgan as well as 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren with two more on the way.
The family would like to express gratitude to Sue Morgan for her love and support of Virginia these last two years as well as Summit Health & Rehabilitation Center for their love and care in her final years. The compassion and care the family felt in her last days will always be remembered.
Cremation services were provided by A.O. Smith Funeral Homes.
