Virginia Smith Stevens, 89 of Waco, Texas and formerly of Stamps, Arkansas went to be with her Lord and Savior July 28, 2025, in Waco, Texas surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was born June 5, 1936, in Magnolia, Arkansas to A.O. and Ruth Turner Smith. Virginia graduated from Baylor University with a master's in education and became a schoolteacher for many years. Along with her two sisters, she owned A.O. Smith Funeral Homes and Smith Burial and Life in Stamps, Arkansas. She served as President of Smith Burial and Life. Her favorite job was that of wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
She enjoyed pageants, music, gardening and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Rogers Stevens Sr. and her parents, A.O. and Ruth Turner Smith.
She is survived by four daughters, Suzanne Stevens Sims (Mike) of Waco, Texas, Lisa Stevens Locke (Larry) of Waco, Texas, Dede Stevens Moore (Bryan) of Waco Texas, Ginger Stevens Rowe (Scott) of Crawford, Texas. One son, Bobby Rogers Stevens Jr. (Tonya) of Magnolia, Arkansas. Two sisters, Corrine Wheelington (LeRoy) and Martha Ford (Mike), both from Magnolia, Arkansas. Fourteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and three on the way and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and family.
Honoring Virginia as pallbearers will be Chris Baima, Thomas Hunter, Jeff Van Treuren, Cody Thompson, Donavan Jarvis, Ryan Gill, Matthew O'Bryant and Jordan Gregory.
Honorary pallbearers will include Mike Sims, Larry Locke, Bryan Moore, Scott Rowe, Keith Sims, Daniel Locke, Dylan Moore and Cody Stevens.
Funeral services will be 3P.M. Sunday, August 3, 2025, at the A.O. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps, Arkansas with Bro. Paul Guinn officiating under direction of A.O. Smith Funeral Homes. Interment will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Stamps, Arkansas.
Visitation will be from 2P.M. until 3P.M. Sunday, August 3, 2025, at the A.O. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps, Arkansas.
