Wayne Buchanan, age 80, of Stephens, AR, passed away September 25, 2013, in Camden, AR. He was born on February 20, 1933, in Stamps, AR, to the late Olaf and Clara Buchanan. He married his beloved wife, Mary, on June 26, 1954, and they shared 59 amazing years together.

Wayne had a long oil field history in the well servicing business and as a partner in several independent oil companies. His hobbies included hunting, listening to country music, and attending blue grass festivals.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary, of the home; three sons and their wives, Travis and Lauretta Buchanan of Norman, OK; Billy Ray and Toni Buchanan of Stephens, AR; David and Stacy Buchanan of Magnolia, AR; five grandchildren, Lisa Gathright and husband Brent of Denver CO; Brittany Sharp and husband Jordan of Stephens, AR; Buck Buchanan of Stephens, AR; Katie and Abby Buchanan of Magnolia, AR; one great-grandson Asa Gathright of Denver, CO; one sister, Charlene Alexander of Stamps, AR; seven nieces and nephews; along with numerous extended family and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be Buck Buchanan, Brent Gathright, Jordan Sharp, Harry Dunavant, Ronnie Hughey, and Tom Biddle. Honorary Pallbearers will be Don Brasher, Jimmy Drake, Charles Hall, Robert Price, Waymon Tutor, G.W. Wheelington, and LeRoy Wheelington.

Visitation will be Friday, September 27, 2013, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Stamps, AR. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 28, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Reverend J.W. Helm officiating. Interment will follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Buckner, AR.
