William Irving Carpenter, age 90, of Bradley, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2014. Mr. Carpenter was born September 28, 1924 in Westchester, PA to Irving and Gertrude Carpenter. He was in the Army Air Corp and served in the Berma Theatre during WWII and worked for the Social Security Administration. Teaching the Sunday school class, Mary and Martha, was one of his favorite Church activities. Mr. Carpenter was spoiled dearly by his Aunt Mable.
Mr. Carpenter was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 68 years, Lydia Louise Carpenter; and son, Michael Scott Carpenter.
He is survived by his Godson, Michael Stringer and wife, Laurie of Shreveport, LA and their five children; four brothers, Frank Carpenter and wife, Gertrude of Sadsburyville, PA; Robert Carpenter and wife, Roberta of Downington, PA; Charles Carpenter and wife, Marie of Decauter, AL; and Edwin Carpenter of Westchester, PA; two sisters, Mary Pyle and husband, Robert of Westchester, PA and Margare Dallet and husband, Eli of Nottingham, PA.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, November 17, 2014 at Bradley Baptist Church with Bro. Michael Stringer and Bro. Aaron Leggett officiating. Interment will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Homes of Stamps, AR. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, November 16, 2014 at the Church.
