William (Bill) Reid Groce, 86, of Stamps, Arkansas passed away Saturday, May 30, 2015 at his home with his family at his bedside. He was born, September 20, 1928 in Burkburnett, Texas to William Homer & Lalla (McClure) Groce. He loved his church where he was very active & served as a Deacon as well as a Sunday School Teacher. He was a Charter member of Trinity Baptist Church. He worked for many years as an Oil Field Worker. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all that shared in his life.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Charlene (Walston) Groce. By his parents, one brother, one sister and a son, Vaughn.
He is survived by a son, Vance Groce & wife Cindy of Stamps, Arkansas. Two sisters also survive him. He also leaves to mourn his passing, Five Grandchildren, Seven Great Grandchildren and Four, Step great grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Mr. Groce will be held Wednesday, June 3, 2015 in the A.O. Smith Funeral Home Chapel of Stamps, Arkansas at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the Lakeside Cemetery in Stamps. Reverends Charlie Warren & Doug Hovarter will officiate. The family would like to give a special thanks to Serenity Hospice of Texarkana.
Visitation for Mr. Groce will be Tuesday, June 2, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Smith Funeral Home Chapel.
