Obituary

William "Vance" Judd, age 87, of Lewisville, AR, passed away Saturday, December 11, 2021. He was born September 28,1934, in El Dorado, AR, to William "Bus" Judd and Floy Childs Judd. He was a 75 year member of First Baptist Church Lewisville. He was an avid sports fan that loved football, basketball and baseball, playing and coaching with many of the area youth. He cherished the memory of all of his players, but he absolutely adored watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren compete.

Vance was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty May Judd, one son Bill Judd and wife Denise of Washington, AR and one daughter, Jill Harman and husband Gary of Lewisville, AR . Vance is also survived by one brother, Donald Lee Judd and wife Carol of Boyne City , MI. He also leaves behind four grandchildren, Brad Judd and wife Patrice of Friendship, AR, Phillip Judd and wife Kayla of Spring Hill, AR, Paige Porter and husband Jordan and Fallon Harman, all of Lewisville, AR. In addition, he leaves his eight precious great grand-babies, Kenley, Pacer, Piper, Paelyn, Moxie, Preslee, Tyler, and Ryan.

Vance was a 1952 Graduate of Lewisville High School. He spent 35 enjoyable years officiating Basketball and Football and was inducted into the AOA Hall of Fame in 2004. He was a member and held multiple offices with the Arkansas Telephone Association. Vance served as a member and president of the Lewisville School Board, and was also a member of the board of directors for UACCH. He was president of the Democratic Central Committee for many years and director of the Civil Defense. Vance spent his lifetime serving his church, his community, and his family. He will be missed, but his legacy will live on.

Graveside services will be held Monday, December 13, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Wilson Cemetery in Lewisville with Bro Charlie Zumwalt, officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Smith Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 12, 2021at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.
