William Edward McDowell (Eddie), 75, of Lewisville, AR passed away September 7, 2019 at his home. Eddie was born on October 30, 1944 in Hope, AR to his parents Edward and Dorothy McDowell.
Eddie was a diesel mechanic for forty seven years in Stamps, Arkansas, Eddie was also the previous owner of McDowell Trucking INC. When Eddie wasn't working on "Trucks" he loved to spend time fishing on Red River and spending time with his family. Eddie was a man of his word, truthful, and as honest as the day is long, he will truly be missed by all.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Dorothy McDowell, Mother and Father in law Thelma and Chester Steuart, one great- granddaughter, Isabel Gentry, and one great grandson.
Those left to cherish his precious memories and wisdom at his loving wife of fifty six years Carolyn McDowell; two daughters, Tammie McDowell of Lewisville, AR, Susan McClure and Timmy Higgins of Lewisville; one son, Scoot and wife Donna McDowell of Lewisville, AR; four grandchildren Tyler and Bella Smart, Grant and Kayla Gentry, Laura Caskey, Chase McDowell, Jessica Bunch, Patrick Higgins, Jess, Ryder, Cy and Kathy Jo and Erica Hamilton; five great- granddaughters; Mckenna Smart, Keagan and Zoey Caskey, and Erin and Ruari Gentry; two brothers George and Beth McDowell of Buckner, AR , Bobbie and Nancy McDowell of Texarkana, AR; two sisters Vivian McDowell and John Coleman of Texarkana, AR Martha Benefeild of Texarkana, AR and one sister in law Sissie Steuart of Lewisville, AR as well as the precious children we kept that called him Poppa Kylan, Myla, John David, Anna, Zackary, Bethany, Noah, Knowledge and Ollie.
We also want to express our gratitude and a special thank you to our precious nurses Jade and Shane of Encompass Hospice, our special bathers, Niesha and Cole of Encompass Hospice. A very special thank you to Chaplin Sidney who made days lighten up and to our beloved neighbors Michelle and Robert Richards.
Funeral services will be held 10AM Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at the A.O. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps, AR with Bro. Adam Rogers officiating. Interment will follow at Wilson Cemetery in Lewisville, AR under the direction of A.O. Smith Funeral Homes. Visitation will be from 6PM-8PM at the Thomas Street Chapel.
Honoring Mr. McDowell as pallbearers will be Grant Gentry, Tyler Smart, Chase McDowell, Catfish (Randel) Wallace, Jerry McDowell and Robert Richards.
